Our History

Phoenix Metal Fabricating, Inc., a privately held company, was incorporated in 1983 in New York State as a metal stamping company servicing the automotive and heavy duty trucking industries. The primary product line was parts for vehicle lighting systems. With the acquisition of some basic equipment shortly thereafter metal fabricating was added as another capability. Following this, Phoenix became one of the first companies to incorporate powder coating as its primary finishing capability. Phoenix continued to augment sales by growing both in metal stampings and metal fabricating. We are a custom job shop fabricator with a diverse customer base. 1994 Phoenix achieved ISO9001 status, being one for the first metal fabricating companies to achieve this designation. In 2003 Phoenix was recognized for its safety initiatives by becoming a SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program) company, certified by NYSOSHA. Current management has been in place since 1987, assuring that our mission of “helping our customers, employees, and community prosper” is fulfilled.

Phoenix Metal has 3 facilities in Jamestown, NY, approx. 75 miles south of Buffalo, and 40 miles east of Erie, PA, centrally located with easy access to interstate highways I79, I86 and I90. Phoenix has easy access to valued subcontractors for plating, e-coating, machining, large size powder coating, heat treating, and other processes not performed in house. Recent major equipment acquisitions include a Mitsubishi 4500W laser cutting machine, a new powder coat pretreat wash system, and a dry off/cure oven combination.

Our Mission & Values

Realise our customers’ ideas by producing products that are perfectly adapted to their specific and respective needs with the development of innovative solutions, thanks to the diversification of our Canadian and American divisions.

Engineering

Phoenix Metal utilizes the latest technology in 3D and solid modeling software along with CAM software for the turrets and laser machines. We work primarily with SolidWorks and AutoCad software but we can also work with most standard CAD file formats including: .dwg, .dxf, .stp, and .iges files.

Phoenix would welcome the opportunity to work with your staff to discuss your application whether it is an existing product or a new design. On existing designs, our engineering team can provide recommendations for improving manufacturability and finding ways to reduce cost. On new products we encourage early involvement of our engineering team in the design process so we can better understand your requirements. We may be able to suggest changes that could improve quality, value, and structural integrity along with improving the manufacturability of the product to reduce costs.

Our value added engineering will benefit you by:

  • Providing recommendations for manufacturability
  • Finding ways to manufacture parts economically
  • Finding ways to save money
